Mandy Young earned her bachelor’s degree in English Literature with a minor in Music from Mercer University, where she also obtained teaching certification for grades 4–12. With experience in both public and independent education, she has taught middle and high school English and Mathematics and has served as director for multiple homeschool cooperatives.
 
Mandy has mentored dozens of teenagers in her community, both in the classroom and on the athletic field as a middle and high school softball and volleyball coach. This dual background in academics and athletics enables her to take a holistic approach to student development. She believes that finding the right academic and social “fit” is essential to a successful college experience and works closely with families to ensure they feel supported at every stage of the planning process.
 
A dedicated advocate for personalized education, Mandy brings over twenty years of experience navigating the educational landscape as a homeschool parent to her two children. Her firsthand experience with home education, combined with her years in the public school system, provides her with a unique perspective on the diverse pathways students may take toward higher education.
 
Mandy is an active member of SACAC (The Southern Association for College Admission Counseling) and IECA (The Independent Educational Consultants Association), and is currently furthering her expertise through the UCLA College Counseling Certificate Program. Guided by a “best-fit” philosophy, she remains committed to helping students build meaningful, successful futures—both in college and beyond.
