Laura Clarkson hails from Silver Spring, Maryland. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware and went on to receive her Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. In 1999, she and her husband relocated from the Washington, D.C. area to Boca Raton, Florida.

Prior to entering the college advising field, Laura worked as a social worker in a specialized educational setting, where she advocated for students and guided families in identifying school programs that best met each student’s unique needs.

Laura joined the Milestone team in 2011 as a college advisor. She is passionate about working with high school students and finds great fulfillment in supporting their personal growth as they prepare for the college transition. One of the most rewarding aspects of her work is helping students identify their “best-fit” colleges and celebrating their successes as admissions decisions and test results arrive.

Laura is an active member of SACAC (Southern Association for College Admissions Counselors) and IECA (Independent Educational Consultants Association). She remains committed to professional growth by continually expanding her knowledge of the college admissions process through campus visits, industry workshops, and continuing education.
