Kyle Moorman is originally from Southern California and attended Santa Monica College for his first two years of undergrad, where he took courses in biochemistry, organic chemistry, and physics. He also studied math through Differential Equations. Kyle finished the second half of undergrad at the University of California, Los Angeles obtaining a degree in Chemistry. He is now pursuing his Master’s degree in Chemistry at Florida Atlantic University wherein a majority of his coursework centers around synthetic and medicinal chemistry.
Dating back as early as late high school, Kyle was tutoring mathematics. By his junior year, he had a strong understanding of trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus. In college, he was highly motivated to understand organic chemistry and loved all classes pertaining to the subject matter. Tutoring the subject came naturally to him and he thoroughly enjoyed teaching it. After college, he tutored organic chemistry, mathematics, and topics geared toward the MCAT as well as DAT privately for over four years. He is currently an organic chemistry lab instructor at FAU. Kyle recently finished a mathematically rigorous-based chemistry course titled “Kinetics”. He refined his mathematical capabilities by learning how to teach others the complexities of certain problems he thought he would never be able to solve or comprehend. This provided a unique opportunity for him to teach and to learn more abstract math with his classmates as well as to help facilitate greater patience with problem-solving.
Kyle joined Milestone in August of 2023. He enjoys the process of understanding what aspects of the SAT or ACT math his students find challenging and then personalizing a problem-solving system that helps instill a feeling of confidence and strength when, in the future, they see similar problems. The most rewarding experience is watching a student push through a new problem that is intimidating for them and witnessing them successfully master that problem without his help!
Kyle sincerely believes that learning has the power to improve someone’s quality of life. Although learning can be difficult and frustrating, his experience has been that it is deeply fulfilling if one can just stick with it. Kyle loves listening to music, cooking, running, biking, yoga, and meditation.
