Julie grew up in South Florida, where she graduated from high school and later earned her bachelor’s degree in criminology from Florida State University. She and her husband, also an FSU graduate, have two children and are a proud “house divided” during college football season, with degrees from the University of Florida and the University of Central Florida represented in their family.
After relocating to Brevard County, Florida, Julie pursued her passion for helping others by earning a master’s degree in social work from the University of Central Florida. She served as the first coordinator of a new Central Florida shelter for teens and young adults, helping residents build confidence and develop independent living skills.
Julie’s professional experience and education naturally led her into academic advising, where she became a Certified School Counselor. With over 24 years in education, including 10 years as Guidance Director at the largest high school in Brevard County, Julie has dedicated her career to guiding students and families through the college selection and application process at colleges across the United States, working with families in Florida and the Atlanta, Georgia area.
Julie is a member of SACAC, the Southern Association for College Admissions Counselors and remains committed to staying current with college admissions trends by attending annual seminars and professional workshops. She is thrilled to be part of the Milestone team and is passionate about helping students recognize their potential, believing that self-awareness and confidence lead to strong academic decisions. As a dedicated college advisor, Julie focuses on helping students identify their strengths, achieve their academic goals, and find the college that is the best fit for them.
Julie also supports college students navigating the transfer process — a path that can be complex and demands careful planning, organization, and close attention to coursework.
