Garry Goldberg
Garry GoldbergACT & SAT Math/Science Specialist

Garry is proud of his Brooklyn heritage.  He attended New York University, getting a B.A. in mathematics.  He lived most of his adult life in NJ, just outside of New York City. Garry is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, having passed the grueling actuarial exams, specializing in pensions.

Garry spent most of his working career as an actuary, first as a pension consultant, and then as the head of global retirement benefits for Johnson & Johnson.  Before his career as an actuary, he worked as a teacher/tutor at Kingsborough Community College, where he was the assistant director of the math workshop.  From that fantastic experience, Garry knew he’d return to his tutoring roots when he finished his career as an actuary.

Garry joined Milestone in November 2021 and has loved every minute of it. Connecting with high school students and helping them improve, whether they are good at math or “not so much”, is a great challenge that Garry relishes.  He also loves math – sometimes when tutoring, he’ll suddenly realize that he’s just learned something that he hadn’t thought about before – what could be more exciting?

Garry moved to South Florida in 2021 and loves everything about the move except the summer. In his spare time, Garry plays pickleball and tournament bridge.  If you ever want to see him light up, just ask him about his daughter Fallon.
